How can I find myself in the Family Tree?

If you want to see 'where you stand' in the family tree, it can seem very complicated to find that.
First of all, you should know which branch you belong to, who your (great)grandfather was, and for example, also know your father's baptism names.

With this guide, you'll easily navigate through the family tree to find your own 'place'.

Click the button to view our Family Tree so you can follow along with the examples.

As you notice we start with Johan Frederik Hubert; a 1 is placed next to his name because he was the first Andrée Wiltens.

Below Johan Frederik are his children. A plus sign indicates that a man is married, but this does not necessarily mean that he has children (or only daughters).
In fact, only Gerard Adriaan and Henri Maximiliaan have become fathers of a son.
Now, let's first look at the 'Delft Branch' of Gerard Adriaan.

As you can see, Gerard Adriaan only had one son: Jacob Willem Gerard Hendrik. His family consisted of 9 children, of whom the three boys each had children themselves.

The next family belongs to Johannes Anthonius Jacobus, with three daughters and three sons.

The last man is Cornelis Hendrikus Marie; his family consisted of 5 daughters and 3 sons.

Let's go back to JFH, then we see the 'Haagse Branche' that begins with Henri Maximiliaan, who had three sons.

Maximiliaan Leonard remained single, while his brothers Henri William and Albert John got married. Only the latter had children.

Looking at Henri Maximiliaan, we see one son: Max.

Max had 5 children, of whom 2 were sons. Only Hendrick Maximiliaan had children.

The next son of William is Gustaaf Adolf, who emigrated to New Zealand with his family in the 1950s.

And the last is Johan Frederik Hubert, who emigrated to America; very little information is known about him.

These are the generations as they are currently known, except for the children of the latest generation. Click on your father's name, and you'll see yourself listed.

For clarity: I have not included the marriages, spouses, and children of the daughters, because they do not pass on the family name.

If you have any additions and/or corrections, please let me know via the contact form or send me an email!

The first family belongs to Anthonius Johannes Marie, who had two boys. Nothing more is known about Jacobus Johannes except that he is believed to have gone to Australia. Rudolf Alfred emigrated to America.
